Welcome Message from the
AIP 2024 Congress Chair
Welcome to the website of the 25th Congress of the Australian Institute of Physics (AIP), co-locating with the 17th International Conference on Near-field Optics, Nanophotonics, and Related Techniques (NFO-17), the 2024 Australian and New Zealand Conference on Optics and Photonics (ANZCOP), and the 2024 Conference on Optoelectronic and Microelectronic Materials and Devices (COMMAD).
The 2024 AIP Congress marks 50 years since the first Congress, a biennial event that has become the largest regular meeting of physicists in Australia. We are delighted to be joined this year by NFO, ANZCOP, and COMMAD, as well as a number of superb satellite conferences. The combined event will bring together those from a range of career stages working across the full breadth of the physical sciences and technology, in research, education, government and industry. For this anniversary event, we are busy preparing a rich program of plenary lectures, parallel specialised sessions, poster sessions, an exhibition, special events, industry events, and a gala conference dinner.
On behalf of the co-located conference chairs and the members of the organising committees, I am excited to welcome you to Melbourne in December.
